What do you do at Rainhouse?
I’m a battery systems technician and an apprentice machinist.
What do you enjoy most about working at Rainhouse?
The variation in the work is great. We have an efficient team working on the battery energy storage projects and I’m able to apply my skills in battery systems, machining, and design. Handling the projects through 3D CAD & drafting, assembly and testing is very rewarding. I enjoy the friendly work environment and the team events.
What’s your favourite aspect of working on battery systems?
The first startup is always great. After all the design, purchasing, fabrication and troubleshooting is complete, it’s cool to see the project finally come to life.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I took a two-year industrial design course before taking the machinist route. I love entering design contests, and even if they are way above my head, I still like to spitball new ideas and render them realistically. The coolest design contest I’ve won is a lunar crane concept for NASA and received the winnings paycheck from the US Department of Treasury.
What is the ONE THING you cannot live without?
I don’t just like coffee, my body is a dumpster for caffeine.
