Renee Carmel
This month’s employee spotlight features Renee Carmel, the dedicated Quality Management System (QMS) Coordinator at Rainhouse. Renee plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Rainhouse consistently maintains and exceeds the highest quality standards in all our endeavours. Beyond her invaluable contributions to our quality processes, Renee is known for her affection for feline companions, her fascination with labradorite gemstones, and her passion for the world of vegetables.
We asked Renee a few questions to get to know her better, and here is what she had to say.
What do you do at Rainhouse?
I am the coordinator in charge of our Quality Management System (QMS). My job is to keep our QMS up to date with published standards, make sure our processes are delivering what our customers want, look for opportunities for improvement, run internal audits, coordinate external audits, and report to management about how all of those things are going. I also do IT, quality assurance, and electronic manufacturing service work when needed.
What do you enjoy most about working at Rainhouse?
Since I was promoted to QMS coordinator I’ve been able to work from home sometimes, which has been nice. Being able to use the machines after hours is also excellent.
What’s your favourite aspect of quality management?
The QMS is the backbone of Rainhouse’s commitment to excellence. It ensures that every facet of our operations is aligned with the highest standards. I like the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing that my efforts contribute to delivering innovative solutions to our clients and upholding Rainhouse’s reputation for exceptional quality.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I moved to Canada to get closer to the universe’s only strategic reserve of maple syrup. Also closer to the mother lode of labradorite, my favourite mineral.
What is the ONE THING you cannot live without?
There are a lot of things I can’t live without, but at a basic level, one could say deoxyribonucleic acid.
